Whats in your vest

Its getting close to hunting time here in Iowa. Duck opens late Sept. and then Pheaz late October.

First, what KEY items do you carry in your vest for the dog and yourself. Then if you could only take 4 items, what would you take?

I carry a first aid kit, Knife, pliers,a pair of dog boots, water and peanut butter samiches for me and the hounds.

4 items I would chose would be the water, pliers, knife and kit.

But, I have been thinking about this handy looking contraption I found on line. I have always wondered how I would get my dogs out if something serious happened to them while I was hunting.
I was also told that a set of really big zip ties would open about any trap my dog could get into. Knock on wood I havent had to worry about either. But if I add much more I will need a ruck sac.

<oops. waterfowl.>

Water, camera, knife. This year I will be bringing food for my dogs. Last year, I found that later in the hunt, he would start eating the breasts of the birds instead of retrieving. Likely because he was so hungry. My dog usually loses about 5 lbs during the 8 day hunt even though I feed him morning and night. I lace the food with high calorie flavoring such as mayonaise(night feeds only) and add water to ensure hydration/calorie supplementation. I will have a dog snack like a sandwich so he won't be so hungry midday.

Not real big on the supplements that are out there. They have not impressed me with their "research" into their products in regards to performance enhancement.
