Whats everyones plans for this year?

I'm a little excited about the quail hunting opportunities this year. Reports are finally pretty good from some of the areas I can hunt. I'm not venturing far from the house. My plans are to keep the drives within an 1 1/2 hrs and hunt something every weekend.

Picking up a new fairly well started English Pointer tomorrow. I plan to hunt upland and combine that with scouting for waterfowl and kill 2 birds with one stone!

Hopefully have plenty of hunting time for both the lab and the pointer. Maybe take old grandpa Viszla out on some short hunts. Poor old guy can't hunt but about 2 hours and he is done, but he still loves to go and ride in the truck.
 
We have about the same plans. I have a new GSP pup that I'm going to work on quail as much as possible this year. If we happen to jump a rooster than that's a bonus. Plan on keeping the drive to about an hour or two from the house.
 
NE for its opener last weekend this month. Then NW, NW, NW, etc. starting opening weekend. Will also do a little hunting on my cousin's farm in NC KS.
 
Plans

My uncle and I will drive out again this year looking for quail. This is the 12 or 13th year. Last year was bad but we had fun. This is "our time". I see him less and less every year.
We go to the same WIHA that we always go to. We might have to try some different counties this year.
It is hard to explain to people from south Georgia that we drive 20 hours to kill a little bird.

I am new to the site I join last year but didn't do anything on the site. Love Ks. Been hunting Ness Co. In Jan. for 6yrs. Never do break any records but always enjoy late Jan. as up north is below zero. Hunting in a T shirt in Jan. does it get any better than that. I am look to donalittle better on the numbers tho. Any help would be great. We stay in Ransom looking to hook up with some Ks. Hunter near by.
 
I hope to head up there about 3-4x this year. I know the bird numbers are down but I enjoy it too much. Can't be much worse than last year.
