I don't think anything has fallen here yet. The air is thick and it feels like it could start any time. Should've been hunting this morning but family-time is calling. Good luck to those of you hunting today!
We're sunny with a cold south wind. Getting to be an old, worn out story! Would love to see it set in and rain for about 3 days. Side note, went through the marshes Thursday to evaluate my tree cutting efforts. Crossed the spring coming out of the only marsh that has water running to it and things didn't look right. Took a walk and found that the only water running in trying to fill the lake since we drained it in September was blocked by 6 beaver dams. Went back after dinner and spent 2.5 hours pulling dams and flinging mud! Wish I could get them to work for me not against me. It would be a good partnership
beaver are really neat animals as long as they are on somebody else's property, once in awhile i see them on the republican, ranches are not too fond of them
Troy, I have read too many FF&G's. lol. It is 3 8" logs lashed together. 12' long, the middle of it wrapped in corrugated tin. You bury it in the dam, creates a leak and the beavers don't realize it is there. Let the moist soil vegetation grow, pull it and then let them replug it. I suppose there would have to be some decent inflow or they would just build another dam.
Google...beaver 3 log drain. I'm sure there are some commercial variations that you are familiar with
