Where we hunt deer in Shamrock, TX is overflowing with quail. The owner of the two sections we hunt doesn't do any upland bird hunting, and neither do any of the guys in my group. So I pack a dog and hunt deer in the morning, quail in the afternoon, deer in the evening. This property is prairie grass and plum thickets, that border a milo field. Almost every plum thicket on that fence line has a covey in it.

Man, you need to thin those darn quail out a little. I belong to a quail reduction team and am ready, willing and able to control those little buggers.
