What are your weekends plans?

Mine got poop canned with the weather forecast. I keep seeing different forecasts but each say rain. Some have the chances higher than others.

Anyone see anything about weather a couple hours west of Topeka?

Quail hunting tomorrow morning. Probably watching it rain and wishing I was hunting the rest of the weekend.

I'm seeing a different word than rain for areas west of Salina and north of Mac.

I'll believe it when I actually see it though.

Heading to the Happy Hunting Grounds in NW in a matter of minutes. Locked and loaded! ;)

3 of us are heading out early tomorrow AM to Western Kansas to hunt. Will start of private ground and mix in some public. Not expecting too much, but will be happy to see a few. Taking the rifle along, may shoot a doe or coyote if the opportunity arises. Didn't bird hunt last weekend, went deer hunting instead. Killed a nice 10 point buck but it left me with a serious bird hunting itch. Hope to take care of it this weekend.

came across very few pheasants in the CRP this week, but jumped 2 damn big whitetails.......i don't think many people hunt CRP, but the deer are bedded in it during the day......

Saturday's toast: company Christmas party late morning/early afternoon. Shocker basketball in the late afternoon evening.

Sunday will try one more time for a deer, depending on the weather. Almost looks like a repeat of Thanksgiving weekend (albeit shorter).

I ended up hunting Saturday. Took the labs with me and hit a spot not far from me and they put up some hens but no roosters. Stopped for lunch in marysville then continued on west and south towards Clifton and hit a few WIHA spots. Was really disappointed as each spot looked like it had LOTS of traffic. Field entrances almost to bare dirt and packed down. Lots of people and dog tracks and no birds.

Was still nice to be out and on the way to my first spot I found some fields that geese are using so I'll be back to scout them next week. The dogs had fun and that's really all I care about anyway.

I am supposed to be heading out towards smith center / Norton area in the morning for 3 days of hunting . But it looks like 8+ inches of snow out there tonight

Should be good with the snow! I'm headed out that way next Saturday for 3 days, if the snow doesn't make roads impassable once it melts!

Hunted Saturday trying to get the wife her first quail. Put up 2 coveys but she wasn't able to connect. We had fun though! Saw some evidence of hawk predation on the birds. Found a 3rd covey but something had broken it up as we all the sudden just started walking up singles here and there. No covey was found just birds scattered.
