Nice! Not the easiest thing to do in Ohio. I found way more wild quail when I lived there than pheasants

Quail are mystical beasts now. So and so heard one, my brothers neighbor seen one, etc. Tiny pockets exist but no hunting allowed anymore.

I lived in SW Ohio you can still hunt then there. Good looking dog by the way.

At’s where I am. Madison county. No season here. I think Hillsboro has some or that’s the rumor.

I lived in Clinton County, I hunt a few counties around there. They definitely aren't common but I know where a few coveys are. I don't get up there this year but have a trip planned for next year. I usually go back and the first week of pheasant/quail season just wasn't able to work it out this year.

Yes it is. Bought it off a feller in California 5 yrs ago. Believe I gave $900. In great shape

Back home from Kansas, disheartening to say the least. Gonna hunt around home this weekend to make sure my dogs nose still works.

Were the conditions bad or was it the lack of birds

Lack of birds. Weather was good. Some fields were grazed or baled, but some looked really good. And I walked them to the back, just no birds. And I mean I didn’t even see a pheasant let alone shoot at one.
