Western Kansas Crowds

Can't wait to get a chew in and put the wind in my face and enjoy some great dog work. I've followed this tread and have a good idea were I want to start.

Matt... Liberal was quite the hot spot 8 years ago. I've made the 13 hrs drive several times.

Everywhere west of the flint hills was a hot spot 8 years ago. I'm sitting at the casino in Dodge now and it's cold. I got here late day and shot 3 quail and a rooster.

Good deal on your winnings. The food service went down hill there and we hadn't been there for a couple years, but the son of a friend of ours that is a chef came back and we have heard really good things again. My wife and I will have to get back up there.

I talked to the chef and complimented him on the steak. It did get really bad for a while, service as well. They must have changed management or something, it got better about a year ago. A friend of mines wife owns the Bad Habit, they have good steaks too.

Good to hear. Bad Habits is good also. Just had a buffalo burger at noon at the new Guymon-Petro the other day. It was good. We don't eat out often and even less now with me on a restricted diet.

I had my limit of phez by noon. Should have went after quail, but I don't want to run my young dog in the ground, and I am hunting two more days. I spent the afternoon just driving around. What a beautiful day to hunt, the birds are really bunched up. I saw a group of 20 out by the landfill, they wouldn't get out of the road.

I took some hunters in that area two years ago and did well. Even one tagged bird in a WHIA that won a prize from the Convention and Visitor's Bureau.
