Forecast for Dodge:

Friday night low of 43
Saturday high of 58 with NNW winds at 26
Saturday night low of 34
Sunday high of 65 with SSW winds at 16

It has been windy(30+mph) the past few days. I am not seeing much wildlife. Today in my travels I did see a single lesser prairie chicken, a single rooster, a covey of quail, a lone coyote, a foot long bull snake and a basket rack whitetail buck. It is always good to see some wildlife and I appreciate the variety that I might see in a day's travels.

Wish I could give all of you headed to the fields glowing reports of lots of birds, but I can't. Be safe and enjoy your time in God's creation.

Thanks Maynard! After being out for the youth opener Saturday, I'd suggest we need to pray for rain to fall before next Saturday; it was bone dry out there, clouds of dust followed us everywhere we went. You know that feeling you get when your eyes, especially for those of us wearing contacts, get packed with fine dirt/sand? That's the feeling I had all day Saturday. Every time we'd stop the truck with the windows down the cab would just fill with dust. We had to switch which windows were down at every turn or the front tires would send dust into the cab as we drove...

That said, I'm watching WIBW's "Supercast" right now and it is showing a WIDE band of showers coming through the state today:thumbsup:

KB,

It is definitely dry and dusty. We did have a little shower pass through here earlier this morning. Maybe a slight chance after lunch. It really doesn't look like this system has much to offer. At the moment I would say plan for dry and windy for the opener.

Not too bad of a forecast.

As long as its not 92 degrees. Hunted in the 80s plenty of times and 90s a couple times and I have a tendency to sweat buckets so a little cooler is preferred.

Couple inches of rain about mid week would be nice. Temps are perfect but moisture would be nice.

Some widely scattered showers in area. Built fast and moved through fast. Milo being cut like crazy where no rain.

Still looks like decent weather for the opener, not so hot and that is good. I hope it isn't too windy though, just saying...
