Here is the video of my hunt Saturday with Steve and my other friend Mark.

DISCLAIMER - I was shooting a new gun for the first time and good lord I couldn't hit the broad side of a barn. In the afternoon I finally picked it up and started connecting on shots.

That was awesome!

2 or 3 years ago my dog found 8 coveys in 4 hours. All on public ground. Hasn't been that good there since. All of my spots were better 2-3 years ago than this year. Not sure why. Still good but not like then

I noticed this year was a little more hit n miss, at least for me. 2 places that I hunted last year that product a limit of quail this year were terrible. 1 had 0 coveys found and the other one small 8 bird covey (both spots private ground). Other areas I hunted I noticed more quail and one spot definitely more pheasants.

With any luck I'll be quail hunting Saturday for the last time this season. I'll admit I haven't hunted as much this year as the last few. Hope next year I can get out more. Did shoot more phez this year than I have for a long time though.
