Very "ugly" shooting

Bad day at Akaska...

Christmas Eve I was fortunate to shoot a limit in an hour - sweater, lite jacket, lite gloves. Farm site east of Mobridge.

Day after Christmas, heavy gloves, and jacket = very poor shooting.

The birds were very wild in both circumstances. Mounting the gun properly was hampered by the coat, and heavier gloves didn't help matters. I have difficulty in mounting the gun anyway, but the heavy clothing really affected my shooting.

Lots of chances...few in the bag, but the dog and I had fun anyway!

Jon, it's hard with a big coat and gloves, but you had fun with your dog afield and that's what counts. So far you have had a good season based on your posts. Happy New Year.

And a Happy New Year to you, Mark. It's always a good season, regardless of the number of birds in the bag. Hope I can continue the sport for a few more years...77 in eight day's.

I struggled this year with birds that were way to close, my gun goes up but brain is saying no no no. When I do shoot I miss? Do not know the answer.

Then Happy Birthday too. You neither look nor act 77.

re shortening length of pull...

It's as short as it can be, without interferring with the stock- nut. You would laugh at the configuration, but it works most of the time. Can only get my right arm to about waist high, due to cancer surgery.
