Had a pretty good opening weekend. Hunted up in Spearman on zeagle68's place. Harvested 23 wild birds over a two day hunt. Worked 2.5 GSP's (had a puppy) and 2.5 Lab's (another puppy) over the course of the hunt. Saw many more birds than last year and of course missed several as well. Here is a pic of the first day morning bounty with Albert and Seal, Shorty and Gus, and yours truly and Taz.

Thanks SkeetMc and welcome to the forum. We saw more than expected and had a 10 bird limit per day so we felt pretty fortunate. No hunts this weekend and will hit them again next week.

That's good news! Last I heard the drought did a number on wild pheasants in Tx. Glad to hear you're seeing more birds:thumbsup:
 
Still not the birds as in the past but healthy environment and plenty of moisture this year has helped. We are fortunate that the land owner sets up the property for us. Plenty of uncut milo and millet corners on 1/4 mile sprinklers along with heavy natural grass and weeded areas near water.
