Well I can't say whether the quail are having any nesting success, but the turkeys are doing well as compared to recent years. I flushed a herd at least 12 fuzzy poults and a hen, of the back 40, the poults about 2-3#'s and capable of twenty foot flight and tree landings, accompanied by a group of about 6 half grown youngsters, probably 4-6#'s each, runners not flyers, but all together. Never seen that different size all together before. Obviously some early, some later, didn't see more than one hen, so must be some sort of adoption deal. All looked healthy.

I have heard from quite a few other people that they have been seeing great numbers of turkey poults. As far as quail - I havent heard of anyone that has seen any chicks yet which is very surprising. Usually by the middle of June some hatching has occurred, next 7 days looks hot and dry so no pneumonia this year :cheers:
