Just returned from Mobridge - saw some birds north of Mobridge. One morning we spotted 6-10 in a bean field and observed a hen with about 8 chicks crossing the road.

Evening observations weren't as productive, but we did managed to see a few.

Lots of water standing in the fields west and east of Aberdeen. Part of hwy 12 closed last week due to high water, near Roscoe, but is now open.

Few birds observed en route...high grass and middle of the day conditions and very hot during our return trip to Minneapolis.

Johnny I live close to where 12 is under water. I have been making hay and clipping CRP lately. I am seeing chicks. Brood size is 4 to 10. It is too early to tell but I feel good about the way things look so far in this area. So much cover that it will be a while before we know much. The corn is catching up lately so maybe we can avoid a repeat of 09.
