Tri Tronics question... "Buzz" feature..

How loud should it be? I just picked up the G3 Sport Basic. And I'm not to impressed with how loud the buzz is, I mean you damn near have to hold it up to your ear to hear it. And it sure doesn't intrest my Lab at all... Just curious if it was suppose to be louder or if thats as good as it gets.

thats it. pretty low tone but it does vibrate. Gets my dogs attention enough. I found it very usefull for gentle reminders. Both my dogs respond to it.

hmm... maybe in time he will get it, but for now it does nothing for him. Just figured it would be nice to use that instead of nicking him if needed.

Once they know that if they don't respond to the vibrate the nick is coming it will get their attention.

Once you have them trained to respond to the inconspicuous "virbrate/buzz" on the collar which is very quiet compared to whistling and yelling letting everything within 1000 yards know you are there, it's a nice feature. I have the remote beeper with my G2 also and love it. I have only ever used the "nick" feature once (I'm lucky). The other features are great. I highly recommend the TRI-TRONICS brand for those features. Ohhhh, and the range is up to a mile+. Training them to the Vibrate/Buzz feature is also great when it gets windy. The collar is always right there!

ALWAYS TEST THE SHOCK LEVEL ON YOUR WRIST FIRST!!! If you can't take it, don't ever try it on your four legged pal.

These are just my observations.

Good luck

This is not a vibrate... its just the "Buzz" which is not loud at all... pretty sure while he's running though taller grass he's not hearing this. Thats all I was getting at. I've had other models in the past, just not one with the buzz feature.

Spense,

I understand now. My mistake! I think you'll like it the more you use it depending on your needs.

I do like it so far, besides that feature, that was one of the reasons I went with this model. But otherwise I couldn't be happier, Tritronics makes a very good product

I would agree Spence. I compared other units on line and here at our local stores. When it comes to the Range, Quality, Features and great feedback I made my choice accordingly and couldn't be happier so far.

I have a G3 and like the buzz feature. Don't worry about you hearing it, the dogs hear much better than we do. 30+ years of shooting have not been good to my ears, but I can hear the buzz OK.

If a louder "buzz" is what you are looking for find one with a locate option. Sometimes I think that would be handy in the cattail sloughs.
