Saw this item advertised today. It's a small unit about the size of a quarter that you can attach to anything (including your dog). Down load the app and you are set to go. One time cost of $29 per unit and no monthly fees. Looks like a heck of a deal to me.

Beware!
It's more or less a scam. They use very deceptive advertising.
Unless you only ever need to know where you dog is while it is in bluetooth range or you hunt where there are a lot of people with the app on their cell phones it is totally useless.
Their claims of finding lost dogs miles away only work if the dog is in the range of someone else who is running the app.

What I have heard from people who have been unlucky enough to purchase one for their dog is that they do not feel like they could take one day on a collar. They are probably best for putting on a key chain so you can always find that. I believe that it what they were originally built for.
Yeah it's only $29... but it will be $29 you won't get anything useful for.
