Tough hunt in KS

Just got back from ks part deux. SE and SC for 3 days, it was tough, warm and beuatiful but other than one day of tresspass fee hunting it was a bust. Tough access and the same drive for me produced far better hunting. It's always tough to drive, scout, and put the dog down in birds in a short time, but this was a very disappointing trip. Makes the rest of the season all that much better. Hope you guys get some rain, grass will green up before long if it stays like this. I bet I have dafodils popping before the first wk of FEB.

2014 was an on and off year for moisture. I think that is partly to blame for our spotty recovery. I'm hoping for an uneventful weather year.

If you were here this weekend - you missed the cold --- been a dark dreary winter until just last week.

Like a mild end to the winter but hate it when everything blooms then gets zapped by a late winter blast - want everything to stay dormant until April and no late storms.

Keep sending some small snowstorms our way. A good slow soak from melting snow is good for the ground.

The triangle of Hwy 50-56 and 19 has treated us very well this year and should be great next year. The family farm we have there has been holding birds in all the shelter belts.
