Got to bed at 1230 last night/this morning. Woke at 0430. Loaded 3 doz full body goose dekes, a dozen ducks along with a layout blind and drove an hour. Carried everything out, set up, corn stalked the blind up and settled in. Well the geese never showed and all I have to show for it some aching bones and muscles. What a slap in the you know what!

That's hunting!

Sounds familiar. Laid in a lay-out blind with my son and his friend a week or so ago. We set up 6 dozen or more goose dekes, 3 blinds, and 3 dozen duck decoys. We had 10,000 geese fly over the set and the only thing that decoyed was a single spec that I could have killed with a ball pein hammer, they were closed! After 5 hours I had questions if I could even sit up should a flock come in. Of course, while picking up the dekes, several hundred came off a pond to the NW and flew right at us at a lower altitude than any before them. I also had to endure watching 7 hunters strafe a CRP patch on private that I had permission on. Explains why the 3 coveys I had been seeing was down to 1.
