Time for you old farts to pay up!

It is a way to get more Pittman-Robertson funds for the state, which is good.

I already have a lifetime hunting/fishing license. I am thinking about purchasing a lifetime furharvester license this year.

just joshing everyone, good deal.

I knew that. I should have put smiley faces on my post.

The lifetime Kansas licenses is the best deal I know of in the USA. I certainly have liked over the years not having to worry about not getting a license purchased, but now with all the tags and permits, I still have to wonder if I have everything----

Spring turkey tags(wish I could get fall tags here)
HIP
Sandhill crane
Prairie chicken
State waterfowl
Federal duck stamp
Deer tags
Elk tag

Furharvester license

Did I miss anything?

I agree about all the extra permits. They can really nickel and dime us, can't they???

The last couple years I haven't really waterfowl hunted like I did in the old (before 2 kids) days. It's kinda embarassing answering all the HIP questions the last two years...

"Doves?" Uhh, yeah, uhh, zero on those...
"Rail and snipe?" zero...
"Ducks?" Ummm, I think I shot a couple of those last year...
"More than ten or less than ten?" Definitely less than 10...:(
"Canada geese?" Less than 10 but more than zero...
"How many times did you hunt Spring snow geese?" Uhh, yeah, zero on that also...
"Any snow geese at all?" Not really, I don't know why I'm buying this HIP stamp either...:nutz:

Back on topic though, I think I will buy a lifetime hunt/fish for dad's Christmas.

I think I am going to by my son and future SIL a lifetime license.
That way when I am a really old fart. they can take me hunting no matter where they end up living.

Got to plan ahead.

SetterNut,

That is the way it worked for us. We did both our sons licenses on KDWPT payment plan that gave them a valid license as long as payments were current, then the license when all eight payments made the plastic card arrived. In the mean time the payment receipt was used as a license until the final payment made. That was a good deal for us, who did not have the funds to purchase the license up front.

Now both sons live in Missouri and this lifetime license gives them reason to come back to Dodge to hunt, as they will this weekend for rifle deer.

I need to get going on that so they have something for the 2013.

Then in a few years I will need to buy my off road wheelchair.
They are going to have to stay in good shape to push me in that chair and still keep up with the dogs.

SetterNut,

When my oldest son was ready to turn sixteen, I began the payment plan for him for a lifetime hunting/fishing license. At that time is was eight payments of $55 every three months and that receipt for the current payment served as his license. Two years later I need to do the same for my younger son, but finances were extremely tight and the payment had gone up to $60. Both of my sons mowed lawns and had some spending money from that, but I wanted to buy the license, but the finances just were not there, so I offered a deal to my youngest, who was a B and C student, but capable of better. The deal, all A's on the report card, I pay the full $60, all B's and above, I pay half, you pay half, anything C or below, you pay it all. He agreed to the deal and from that point on my son was a straight A student. I think I made a good investment.
