Yesterday I hunted with 8 of my former baseball players. (picture attached)Seven of these men played varsity baseball for me over the past 10 years. We had a great day, got a few birds and they told lies about how tough I was on them. I did get three birds so the old ball coach held his own.

Today I did not go out until around 1:30 it was just me and the two dogs. I walked for about two hours on ground that we have not hunted yet this year and then drove to some ground we had a lot of success on yesterday and walked parts that we passed over & say a few birds. On the way home I stopped and walked a small waterway and kicked up a very large covey of quail than as the sun set I saw two roosters cross the road and go into CRP both held for me to get to them. As the sun set in the background I knocked one down and Moss my son's lab made a great retrieve. Talk about a beautiful picture the setting sun on the brown grass Moss’s chocolate coat shinning and the rainbow color of the bird was amazing. What a great way to end a great weekend.

Have a Merry Christmas and Happy Hunting!

Great story and pic!!! Can you tell us some of the stories your players kept secret from you until now?????? LOL:cheers:

Sounds like a fabulous day afield! I hope to get out to chase some roosters the week after the holiday. I cannot wait!
