In a word: A bust. Just hunted walk-in and public from midday Friday thru Saturday. Oh, I forgot - I saw one pheasant. Started in Lincoln County, the best kept secret in Kansas according to a cowpoke I encountered on a desolate road. Kept moving north into Osborne and Mitchell Counties. Spent the night in Downs and then went to Glen Elder, the queen of pheasant habitat. Did not see a pheasant there after two hours of ground pounding. Went north and east into Smith and Jewell Counties. No birds. Had a great Thanksgiving with family and food including pie for breakfast.
