All in all, I'd call it a success. We saw a lot of birds this season, finishing the year with 3 roosters and 6 quail. We had lots of wild flushing birds in the wind but got the ones for which we had shots. The highlight of the day was seeing one of the dogs finally remembering what to do, locking up some hens with incredibly stiff points, one of which was a good 15 feet away.
Lots of hens so there should be good breeding stock for next year if weather conditions can be right. I wish I could have gotten a couple of pictures, but when you constantly forget your phone in the truck it makes picture taking tough.
