I received the BV15 for Christmas this past year. Prior have used Bird-n-lite but wanted more carrying capacity for extended trips away from the truck. Has been used for short and long trips. It has held up so far, with the added benefit that it can double as a turkey vest.
With Turkey hunting. Game pouch can accomidate the large decoys during extended hikes into the woods, back is reinforced so I can lean back into bushes/tree trunks and not get stabbed. Side zipper areas hold the larger calls and can hold water.
Downside, the pockets for shells, there are two, one open with shell loops and a more superficial pocket with velcro flap for closure. Secures items well...too well. Has Choke point at opening which makes retrieving objects difficult, especially when wearing gloves. Manageable but difficult. I wear a UA Derecho Glomits (Best hunting glove ever), large glove, hand size of 8 which is about average size.
The Orange flap on the back was measured as 300 sq. in. So add a hat (100 sq in) and it meets WA laws for hunter orange requiremements (400 sq. In)
In comparing to Bird-N-Lite (Also 300 sq in of Hunter orange), The BV15 has larger carrying capacity, Holds shells more securely but trade-off for more difficulty in accessing the pockets. I can't tell you how many times I have spilled while hunting and had to retrieve my shells off the ground with the Bird-N-Lite while Chukar hunting. Not been an issue so far but just give it a few more seasons and major spills to see what happens but in general happy with the performance.
I usually carry a Canon SLR with 55-250 lense and sits in game pouch well without damage.
Use the BV 15 exclusively for Chukar/Day trips/Turkey.
Hope this helps.
