Tax payers moneys worth

Well it seems we the tax payers once again got cheated:thumbsup: The mighty waterfowl refuge did the big burn. They called the burn master 5000 dollars for this idiot:thumbsup: 4 million in fire fighting equipment and they still managed to burn down the brand new machine shed:thumbsup: But they did manage to save the 100000 dollar sh#tter thats never been used:D Yes not only is are waterfowl refuge and nesting area a BIG negative to the duck population. A whopping 4% success rate takes 12 -14% to mantain a duck population. What a waste of 7000 acres of wildlife habitat. My dog could do better.

What refuge is that??? State or Federal. Smokey the Bear always said, Only you can prevent wildfires. They spent millions on that message, maybe ought to take their own advice! My first burn, I burned right on through the fence boundry, a little hot, the posts had to be extinguished at great effort, but the truly frightening part was the flames dancing around the invalid neighbors 1000 gallon propane tank!!! Alls well that ends well. I burn in smaller tracts now, have a water wagon, plow wide firebreaks, then water them, wait for the wind to die at dusk, and have the Fire Department on speed dial. One experience as a smoke eater, flogging and hosing the propane tank made me a believer!

ah your pi$$ed because they wouldnt let you make smores during the great burn. i agree how many times do they have to burn the grass any way. seems like they burn it every year. they should burn before the ducks and pheasants start nesting.

I remember back in the 70's the government built new crappers with stainless steel seats, for durability. The issues of use in cold weather eluded them, but I noticed that there were visible foot cleats after a few years dug into the walls above the bomb bay, so to avoid the icy touch in frigid weather. I have heard of a gentleman who froze stuck, in a moment of need, whether urban legend or true, word spread fast, and there were obviously enough believers to improvise the "suspension system". I prefer the feral dump as nature intended, bury in a a small hole, and for cyrin' out loud, leave the dogs kenneled!!!!
