Granted, most of us are looking for more in a dog than your average dog owner. Although my own puppy requirements aren't terribly lofty, conscientious breeders are where it's at for me. They know what they're doing. I don't, & anyone who has asked or would ask if my dog could breed with theirs, probably doesn't know what they're doing either. They just see a nice looking springer who's a pretty decent pheasant hunter. So I have my dogs neutered. I will not ignorantly water down a breed, while competing with people whose livelihood is centered around breeding great dogs. One of my dog's poorly bred pups has poorly bred pups. One of those has poorly bred pups. One of those. And so on. Nope. There are lines out there that have integrity, & I'm not going to be the guy to slap them in the face.
