Who else likes to shoot sporting clays?

Where does everyone shoot?

I shoot at Gehrig farms between Evansville and Janesville a few times a year same for Milford hills in johnson creek. Prefer milford hills but Gehrig farm is closer. Hope to shoot more this year than last.

I've also shot at woods and meadows in Jackson county.

Anybody shot at wern valley?

I'm not in Sconny, But I've been shooting Sporting whether it be tournaments, leagues or just for fun for the better part of 20 years.

I shoot mainly at Wild Marsh just east of St. Cloud Mn, but have been to most of the bigger ranges in Minnesota many times.

An addicting game isn't it???

Clays

I'm interested in giving it a go this year. I typically go out and shoot trap (have my own thrower and it's cheaper than the clays course). I'm not sure if I would hit anything on those courses. I specifically want to work on my crossing shots.
What's the cost per round at those places? I hear wern valley's course is pretty good from some of my neighbor's (never went out to shoot the course)

Usually around $20 for 50 clays. Milford hills is really nice because everything is electronic on a key so if you get to a station and want to shoot a target that give you trouble some more you can shoot it as much as you want for something like .30 a target.

If crossing type shots are your weakness, I'd find a skeet field as it will be cheaper. The nice thing about a skeet field is you can duplicate just about any angle or type of shot. It may not be as much fun as walking a sporting course, but for working on specific shot your having trouble with it's easier and cheaper.

Don't forget to practice gun down at the ready position.

I'm going to probably give it a go this winter and join a league in the spring. I joined the Conservation Club of Kenosha County last year, but have yet to utilize the facility, so I figure i would give it a shot.

Been doing a lot of shooting compared to the past and having a blast. Wern valley,McMiller, woods and meadows,Gehrig, and milford hills so far. Plan to hit all them plus more several times before fall.

Anybody been doing any shooting? Or if anybody wants to throw in with us some saturday or sunday just send me a pm. Usually just Dad and me or another guy or 2.
