I was snagging down at Miami, Oklahoma a few years ago and there was a tourist vidoe taping us snagging. They were there all day. Late that evening game wardens showed up and started writing tickets. The tourist were undercovers taping guys leaving with their limits and coming back for more. They wrote a bunch of tickets.

Miami is the best place to snag for me. I like it so well I got married there then ran down and snagged a limit before the honeymoon. Used to make the run from Iola several times a week after work.

My first ever, 44 lbs, this afternoon.

Put in at Miami city park, went down river a few miles and got this one. State of Oklahoma has a fish cleaning operation now. You take them the fish (or call, they'll even come get it out of your boat for you), they measure it, weigh it, cut the jaw bone out, take the eggs, and then filet and bag it for you. They then sell the eggs as caviar and invest the money back into the fishery, boat ramps, parks, etc. The girl at the cleaning station said sometimes they make a pile of money, other times they get hardly nothing for them. An article in the paper 2 years ago said Oklahoma had sold something like $8 Million worth of eggs the previous year.

Nice fish. Maybe Oklahoma is the way to go. Cut left index finger off today cleaning a 20 plunder. Never keep another spoonbill as long as I live.
