My dad and I hunted this area last weekend. We killed our limits but the public land hunting was tough. The birds were wild but we found success hunting road ditches and smaller areas with cover.

The thought of "if I leave at 5am...." started on me yesterday and has haunted me all day today. The thought of this thing ending and the thought of hitting the road for one more day this year may just get the best of me before morning. Might just be "sick" tomorrow

I ended up traveling / hunting a bit further north to a little west of Mitchell and we found birds and had a great experience, unbelievably great weather too considering it is late January.
My first time hunting SD. It’s such a thrill to hunt wild pheasants with my dogs in fields and farms.
I grew up in Ohio hunting wild pheasants which are no longer in my area.
Hunted about 4 days and we bagged 8 roosters which is mostly thanks to my amazing lab.
More shooting skills need improvement for sure.
