There have been a few sightings of Mountain Lions in eastern South Dakota. I think they are generally brushed off as cats that have been displaced from the Black Hills. The locals here have a different opinion but I will not repeat it here.

I have been training my dog in this area. Many of the days I do not carry a weapon other than a pocket knife. I am glad we didn't have a run in with this guy. My 35 lb year old Vizsla female wouldn't have a chance.

Best looking mountain lion have seen all year. All hunters should thank this guy before it hurt someone or took any hunting dogs.

About 20 miles north of my house, but we have had one or two closer. Maybe they are chasing all the coyotes into my neighborhood. We have a moose again not too far from there also.
