Some GREAT News!

Very nice to read about the quail nesting. Hopefully there are more nests out there somewhere. Thanks for posting.

Do you think the quail from Georgia will have trouble with the colder winters in NJ?

I've talked about the southern birds with my son in law, who is working with this project. They "the biologists" felt it was more important to try and match the birds to the type of habitat. The Pinelands resemble the area very closely to where the birds came from. I'm more of the thought that northern birds would fair better in NJ, but I'm not a biologist. Either way it's great news to have nest in this part of the State.

Mr. Appleman has concerns about approaching the nest, saying that predators follow human scent in their search for food, I agree.
