The past couple of weekends I've been going out to Presho and have noticed these birds seem to be smaller than ever, anyone else noticing this? But, it could be worse, thought the numbers were gonna be wayyy down this year. First thread, so take it easy on me!

Later hatches in that area possibly? Did you get any with immature plumage?
 
Were you hunting WIA's north of town and over by Kennebec? Are the bird numbers good? I usually don't go over to that area until late season, with fewer hunters in the area. With the number of folks hunting these areas early in the season, most of the birds get pushed out onto private land.

We were actually just hunting ditches and had better luck doing so. Did not try any WIA's. The bird numbers are great out there, just alot of smaller birds. First time we went out we limited out, this last weekend we went with 4 guys and only got 7. Lotta hunters out there this time of year.
 
Redfield area this past week still had VERY immature birds...waited for a cackle on a couple before firing.
