Made the 1st trip of the season for me, 2nd for the other fellows. Get to the house early Friday afternoon and it was obvious the fellows skipped a couple of steps when it came to winterizing the house when they left the last time. Went into the bathroom and the tank was cracked in half with about 10" of ice in it. (At least we had ice for our drinks!) They also forgot to drain a line to the washer and that cracked. A quick trip to the hardware store and we were back in business.
Hunted Saturday and a half day Sunday, 4 guys, 3 dogs, 3 shots and no birds. We did see a couple of good size groups but they got up and we not even close to them. Oh well can't wait to go back next week!
On a side note the last field we hunted Sunday just got going with my 8 mo. old lab pup (His 1st trip) and my buddy says he thinks he's on a bird, he's going in a circle of about 6-8 ft. his tail is going nuts and up comes a hen right in front of his nose. You gotta love it!
