Well the crappie are starting to bite, we caught 10 or so 10-13" slabs Saturday. Never could find the 15-20" class fish we get into sometimes. We only kept enough for dinner.

Yeah! nice slabs. Didn't think CA and Crappies. Reservoirs, canals, Where do you find the slabs in CA?

Pretty much all ponds, lakes, rivers and canals in Ca have crappie but only a few have good sized slabs like that.

I hope you find some of those 20". That would be a double slab.

We'll find them but they don't act like a school sized crappie. They're hard to predict and there's usually only one or two of them when you do find them.

Ice fishing Crappie was very good here this year, now lakes are all open. Crappie start moving into bays and shallows with a few warm sunny days.
