Got a drawn in hunt for upland here this last weekend. Took 3 friends with me everyone has a bird dog, we like to think good ones all go to SD,WI,and IA each year for pheasant and grouse. Paperwork I got says that there is 2,200 acres to hunt upland? We got there hunted 3 hours all open areas we found were in crops, they were picked but they were crop fields? Had some grassy areas on edges, dogs never got birdy never put a bird all day? Some drawn in for the State of Il. Has anyone else ever had any luck here with Quail or Pheasant?
 
Last year we went there and found two small coveys of Quail but no Pheasants and we hunted our butts off there tho and I got good dogs too. I have alot better luck on private land than the State places I been too.
