Silent or Beeper

Hello, for those that have personally tried it both ways, do you notice any difference in ability to pin down/point a bird when hunting silently with no communication with dogs VS when using a whistle or beeper?

I've heard the KS pheasants get more and more crafty toward the end of the season, but does this show up as an issue with a beeper, bell or whistle?

Beeper/locator in tall grass so i know where the boy is. Nothing in short grass! I prefer nothing at all and into the wind, the slower the better! IMO

I agree with rwigg. I hunted this past week and got solid points on phez in CRP with hawk beeper on but if its short or in stubble, nothing!

I don't want any noise at all. Pet peeve of mine. These birds get real smart and number 1 sense is hearing. I don't say anything or talk to anyone including dog. I am real careful when shutting doors on the truck and make sure I park a good distance from where I think birds are. HOwever, I do use a bell when in thick cover with a pup and that is it.

If I cant see my pooch I will put him on point only and locate him ocasionally with a single beep. If I dont know where he is then what good is he???? Short grass I am totally silent.
