shedding

My dog has shed hair from the minute i got him?I know coming into the hotter months there supposed to but it seems like newt just sheds relentless! He sheds more than any dog that i have ever owned i take a shedding brush thing i bought from walmart and its just hair everywhere when im brushing him, any of you guys on here had this with your dogs?

All dogs shed, just some do it more than others. Don't think there's much you can do other than to continue brushing him out. Could possibly be a result of the food he's eating too.

I have heard that a little fish oil can help some dogs shedding.

Mine shed some but not real bad.

I give my dog fish oil pills daily. It helps with his coat and the itching, but he still sheds.

ya ive also heard that it could be what a dog eats to but prop plan performance in hunting season and diamond in the off im not seeing that one? I was just kinda curious thanks

How often does he get baths? While it may not slow the shedding down, I have found that it will deposit a lot of the hair in the bathtub, and not on the couch LOL!

I would try a different food and see if that helps as well. A friend of mine had a lab that started shedding like mad last fall. Vet said it was allergies and they determined it was the food he was feeing him. Has fed him the same food for years, but either something changed in the food, or the dog developed some kind of allergy out of the blue. the vet said more than likely something in the food.

either way, he switched and the dogs coat is remarkably smooth now and the dog isn't itching or shedding nearly as much. I just asked him last weekend how he was doing because of the warmer weather and he said no changes. all is good.

thanks for the input moses but i can guarantee the dog isnt coming in the house or riding in the truck that discussion will be brought up later i guarantee that lol but i have taken the hose to him a few times a year and given him baths but no good still sheds i dont know it could be the food but ive had lots of dogs and fed pro plan and never had the problem but it could be ?? Im just not sure

Dogs are a lot like people, they're all different in their own ways. I feed my lab in the evening. Sometimes he'll eat, other times he'll wait until the next day. He's really weird about that. I tried different foods with the same issue. I finally came to the conclusion that it's a little quirk
about him that makes him different.
