SE KS Quail hunt

Got an invite to Quail hunt at a co-workers place near Latham KS. It turned out to be a pretty good time even with the fog. We found 3 coveys of 15-20 birds. Pretty healthy population of birds. I only got 2 birds as it was tough to get a shot in the thick brush, had to be fast and I was not. My pup Mack did great pointing the 3 coveys and found/retrieved my 2 downed birds. Not bad for 11 months old. I can't wait to get an invite back out, good times.

NRHpilot and myself hit Marion lake Tuesday and only saw a hen and rooster but we did find a good spot for turkey. Saw at least 50 turkeys, wish we had some tags because we would have been eating turkey today.

Good for you. I'm trying to plan a trip to KS for next year to hunt pheasant and quail. It will be quite a drive from Pa.

Good to hear of the quail there. I have a buddy close by that has zero quail these days.
 
we will be heading out the 1st,down here we have more quail and very few pheasants,if niki turns out as good as her litter mates i will be very happy
