I needed to do a little scouting today to get ready for visiting hunters.

Here is a marker at the George Washington Carver homestead which is surrounded by WIHA.

Did manage to get in just a little late afternoon hunting. Murry on his first rooster point.

Bilbo,

I am ashamed though that a Texan(you) have seen more of Kansas than I have. I need to hit the road and try to catch up. Do you have a map that shows all the counties of Kansas that you have shot a rooster?

I didn't shoot one in downtown Kansas City yet. Oops, that isn't a County is it? I love being in Kansas and every minute is good for me. The countryside catches my eye and the people are terrific!!!

I had no idea that Carver had a place in Ness County. My kids leran about him and we have a school named after him. I would like to find the WIHA that is on his homestead just to take photos back to the class.

Thanks for posting.

I didn't pay too much attention to the walk in hunting. Looks like a lot of pasture with a creek running through. It is #112 on Map 14, which is just south of Beeler.

nice pics~

i took my handheld video cam this weekend quail hunting north of abilene and was so "giddy" on my pups first outing, never got it out. seeing beautiful scenery like this reminds me of my weekend and how i should have gotten it out.

Any quail?

Any quail?

yes! in 8 hrs of hard hunting over 1.5 days we got upwards of 20 quail between 4 guys and 9 month old Britt. the first morning i didn't carry gun as i was working the dog. we had several coveys that we pushed into ground we didn't have permission and one big covey jumped the river. until the crops are out and gets a little cooler i think we are going to chase the smaller birds.

Nice pics MR! You never get tired of looking at them. Thanks!:coolpics:
