I've been meaning to post this but keep forgetting... Discovery channel had a show called "science of dogs" on the other night. Pretty interesting stuff... It was all about how people have modified the dog breeds for different purposes, why it works on dogs but not other animals, etc,.
If you see it on the guide, it is worth watching. I wish it was a little more in-depth, but it was just an hour show and I think they wanted to appeal to a broader audience.
Kind of interesting food for thought that all of our dogs came from wolves but it was selective breeding that gives us such a variety of traits now.
