Some more of the white stuff starting Wednesday around noon up North and lasting into Thursday!!! If this holds and I do not have to go in to that damn thing called work, I will be bustin' birds out East! Anyone else thinking or planning a great hunt for this storm?

I wish I could. But I already missed work last Friday to hunt. Good luck if you make it out and be safe.

Mrs CO_Weimar is having surgery on Thursday ... so I guess hunting this weekend might get me in trouble. :D

Can we start a last-minute campaign to postpone Christmas and all of the family obligations connected to it? Just for a couple days I mean! ;)

I think so! Not sure how far it will go ;). Looks like were going to be getting quite a few inches out of this one.

Snowing like a bea-atch right now!!! Looks like a slow drive ahead for the morning!

Bleu, did you make it out there? I loaded the truck last night, got up this morning at 0300, looked at CDOT's website and went back to bed... Didn't want to risk I-76 in this.

Tomorrow for sure, tho! :D

It's always this way....perfect hunting weather but lousy road conditions to get there. Wish I lived somewhere that I could just walk out the back door and hunt on a day like today.

Maybe it's for the best, days like this can be tough on birds. Sometimes it's not a bad thing to leave 'em be to ride out the storm without making them get up and fly. At least, that's what I'm telling myself to make myself feel better!

I can't get out there until Tuesday. To those of you that are getting out there this weekend, try to leave me a few will ya!

I'll be heading out to the Sterling area in the morning if anyone wants to join. So far it looks like a buddy and myself, so if any of you are gonna head out tomorrow let me know and maybe we can meet up there and go get some birds!

Mike

Man, with the snow coming in, I was dying to get out there. But it doesn't look like it materialized out east. In fact, its blue skies and it looks like they only have about 1/2 inch. Check the CDOT cameras to see for yourself. Maybe the storm will move that way, who knows.

Be safe everyone!

DOH!! Shoulda, coulda, woulda…. Just have too many bad I-76 experiences under my belt to risk it, I guess!

Made it safely! Only took me 4 1/2 hours!!!! Average speed was 40-42!!!! Finally get there and a skiff of the white stuff!!! Birds were still in the CRP!!! Running circles around me!!! Had some great points , mostly Hens. Got one nice Rooster and had another beautiful point, only for me not for sure of Rooster! Actually was for sure it was a Hen, until it turned and by then, well I did not even raise my gun. Amazed the Pups have learned so much each time I go. No better school than Wild Wiley Pheasants. Roads were flippin dry the whole way home! Had a foot of snow at the house! Saw 2 other vehicles, Big Maroon truck and a white truck that were hunting. Went to a field I knew held birds only to see that Maroon truck and 4 hunters just getting started. As I drove by a Rooster flew up and they missed and then 20 blew out too far out and then flew over my 4-runner. I never stopped, hope they got a few!!
