Retire my hat?

My wife wants me to retire my favorite hunting hat. I’ve had it since 2006. It has been on my head for 4 dogs, hundreds of miles, and lots of downed birds. It carry’s dust and dirt and sweat from 4 different states. I told her it wasn’t possible to retire it. I actually lock it in my reloading room so it won’t “accidentally” disappear.

Dude, You don't even have it broken in it. I wish I had taken a picture of one that I retired. The wives on hats are typically just biased, lol. Mine had holes in several places.

Zero chance I would retire that gem at this point. There are great powers in that hat along with a lot of memories.

It is perfect! Just wear a different hat out of the house, keep that one in your hunting bag until you are in you truck.

Dont retire that. Ive had a pair of gloves since 1999, and I wont turkey hunt without them. Theyre full of holes, but ai know i cant shoot a bird without them.

Get one of those plastic frames to hold it's shape and into the dishwasher. Wife will thinks she's Super Woman when it comes out.

Absolutely not! I told my daughter to bury me or burn me with mine when the time comes. The stories and land mine has seen can never be replaced

Absolutely do not retire that lid! That contains years worth of MOJO that you will lose if discarded. Wear that like a seasoned warriors, it looks great too....old PF cap, love it. I have a old blaze cap with a Leupold logo on the front, I gave been wearing for around 20 years, just bird hunting for it. When I am not wearing it, I have some questions about my shooting abilities. Last year or the season before I washed it, it was covered in dirt and dried bird blood stains, I was hoping I wouldn't wash the luck out of it. It cleaned up great, bright orange and but the luck didn't wash out of it. Whew! It is the one item I am a bit superstitious about.
