Hey all! Here are the last of my photos to close out this season.

My first triple ever bagged, off of Gunner's point. Hence the three fingers salute within.

I finally got my oldest out. A very memorable hunt for both of us.

Extra credit if you can name the type of bird on the left. An extra special gold star if you can guess how we bagged it!

Last day of the season, a cold one! Wait a minute! Two hunters, both pictured? How'd that happen?

Great pics and fitting end to your season. The bird in question I think is a hun you bagged 5 birds; 1 Hun, 4 roosters....lol

Nate,

I am guessing a Ruffy but I am in bad light. However, I cannot imagine how you found it if you were as far west as Menlo, Iowa- the home of the Freedom Rock.

I have a hard time finding rugged grouse in the Appaplachian area where I live.

Great pictures...

PDD

Misread you extra credit added a "many", did that a lot in school too, I would have guessed road kill........

Great pics Nate as usual. No worries on the hunt, we will get after it this next season. The last day was brutal, you and the pups must have been cold! That was one cold wind, at least here where I am.

How did you do on quail this year out of curiosity? I seem to recall you had a pic or two of them. I saw more quail this year than I have in the last 10 years combined, no kidding. All of it was in the bottom three rows of counties but I did see alot of quail.

Oh yea, congrats on the triple! That is awesome just to have a chance at it and then to pull it off, cross that off the hunting bucket list :)

what kind of bird

Appears to be a Hun?

Ah, very good guys! Yes, a Hun, and yes, road kill. Hit by a truck ahead of us!

KP . . . I definitely saw more quail this year, yes. And I never hunt south either. Found 3-4 good sized coveys out west on I-80. I shot one, my buddy taking two IIRC.

Nice pics Nstric. Those dogs must be well trained... they are facing the camera! Mine don't always like to do that.
You kiddo looks like he had a blast... cool stuff!

Great pic's Nstric..That ol rooster with the daggers is sweet.. In 2012 I was out in SW Kansas and we bagged 24 Roosters in 3 days. 2 man limit. Only one had small spurs. The drought was kicking off and they had limited hatch that year. I saved 2 of the big boys to add to the wall..They sure are sharp as needles!!! Very wiley as they get to be that old!! Thanks for sharing!!:coolpics::10sign:

Definitely a fun and memorable season indeed! My full season statistics are being compiled now . . . will post soon.
