I have a deposit on a pup and have several months before I bring her home. As I think about what I will call her the bigger issue is coming up with the registered name. How is that determined or how did you determine yours if there are no guidelines.

Thanks

I always have the mothers name and typically fathers too, I will also try to include part of kennel name if possible. One example was "Ms Nellie Spinelli of Nevene Tx". This had all three my dog Nellie, part of stud Spinelli, kennel and mom Nevene tx. I think this is a good way of quickly showing your dogs breeding without having to show pedigree, kinda the readers digest version. I don't like it when breeders restrict your naming by having to use their kennel name but understand why they do. This is just how I was raised and told to name my dogs from my dad. Hope this helps.

Some kennels like you to use their name in the registered name. Example: the kennel I got my pup from in January is using the word "Janee's" and asked that I use it. Also the sire's name is August Rush. I want my dog's call name to be "Bree". Thus her registered name is: Janee's August Breeze

I got my previous dog from Godfather Gun Dogs in Colorado. Reg. Name: Godfather's Dakota Elle. I live in Dakota and her call name was Elle.

You can make up about anything you want. I've seen some really strange ones. Even ones that have no connection to the call name. Maybe if you gave us the names of the sire, dam and kennel we could come up with some suggestions??
