Its rattlesnake season here......Has anyone taken their pooches for rattlesnake aversion training? We took Sherman Tank last month. The guys doing it have "muzzled" rattlers 
and use shock collars on the dogs. The training started with Sherman picking the baby rattler up in his mouth but after getting a little nudge with the collar he dropped it, and as Sherman got closer to the snake and the snake tried to strike they gave Sherman a stronger nudge until Sherman wanted nothing to do with the snakes. The test was putting Sherman on the far side of a field and the trainer walked Sherman in our direction until Sherman saw a big rattler where he stopped. The trainer had us call Sherman in all of our happy come hither voices...Sherman had to find a safe way to us without going near the snake. Sherman first tried to get the trainer to carry him to us by jumping up on the trainer and dancing around the trainers legs. After the trainer refocused Sherman, he found a safe way to us. All in all I thought it was pretty cool training.:10sign:
