I haven't hunted them, so I don't know about plenty of pheasants and chickens, but it is a wide open area where you have the opportunity to get into multiple species of upland birds. I believe the cover is better for sharptails and prairie chickens than pheasants, but there are certainly pockets of pheasants within there. From my understanding when pheasant hunting the grasslands, look for the "cover within the cover." Walk that extra half mile to that patch of grass or thickets or water or whatever that looks different than the endless shorter prairie you've been walking. Again, I may be wrong - I've never actually hunted it.
