Well its almost July and Quail broods are looking good. I saw several broods flying across the roads in my travels this week. Its looking much better than last year, so far. The outer part, of the city even got some Rain this week. Come on October 5.

I even saw a rooster run across the road in south Chandler. It had to be some bodies pet. I just about wrecked my truck in the ditch LOL.

Being that I'm fishing or golfing a lot right now, I've not been in the woods here in Wisconsin much. But I've been seeing turkeys with their broods around our office lately. Two hens traveling together with about 20+ poults and another solo hen with about 6. Based on our weather in May and what I'm seeing it appears as if we had very good brood conditions and I think we can be optimistic about grouse and woodcock reproduction this year. I hope it's been good in the plain states, as well.

Great news guys:thumbsup:

JMAC, I'd say seeing a pheasant out that way is right up there with seeing Sasquatch basking in the warm morning sun. Glad to hear you didn't wreck your truck! lol

It was the last dang thing I expected to see. Then all the middle fingers and horn blowing directed at me. :D:cheers:

Sounds good Jmac. I'm going to call down to the Barstow field office and see how much rain they got. Anything around or above average rainfall means lots of quail and chukar down in the desert.

Quail Hound,
Please do, call and pm me what you find out. I've had quail running though the streets, in town, right out side my front door. Strange very very strange, they must be running the canal for water. With all the ferrel cats in town........ Makes one wonder.
