At the risk of despoiling our bounty. I am still seeing more birds in Missouri. I want to make it clear, there are not birds under every bush. I wouldn't want to plan a trip, but it's at least a huntable population, which is more than we had originally. One wonders what the MDC does to access the population? Spin the bottle? So it's not 1967, where you could stop at any likely spot and flush a covey at road, ( we were ready to shot out of the car), to now where we areat least likely to have bird contact but it's not 2009-2010-2011 either. Hopefully we won't go back. Common mild spring weather with limited rain!

amazing...........

I'm still having very little success. Most of my private spots are still badly hurt from the 18 inches of snow for 2 weeks in the winter of 2010. Going to take quite a few more good nesting years to bring them back. My best spot use to have 5-6 covies and for the past 2 years there has been zero!
