Quail Hunting

Is there any Louisiana quail hunters or who have quail hunted there?

I have never hunted quail in LA but have deer hunted outside Monroe and Duck hunted outside Lake Charles. We jumped a covey last year by Lake Charles and the locals were surprised as they hardly see any quail.
Never saw any quail around Monroe and my buddies there tell me they are almost gone. Sounds like the need some habitat changes for the quail.
