I just got back from a Mule deer foundation/ Quail Forever Youth hunt. It was a big hit. The kids that drew tags hunted deer and the kids that didn't have deer tags, hunted quail. The Game and Fish provided Food and shotguns for the kids to use.
We had a couple of Arizona pointing dog club members provide dogs, and pen raised Bob-white Quail for the kids. One Brit and a Gsp, both 2 year old dogs.
This was perfect as the dogs worked very well together. Both honoring the others points.
The kids did all right and are hooked on quail hunting. I got to shoot back up to the kids as we cant have Bobwhites, left out in the desert where they don't belong. It was a big treat for me as I have not had the pleasure to hunt Bobwhites.
