Managed a few more today and most likely my last hunt of the year as I think I have used up all of my brownie points with the missus.

It’s been a great season and a lot of fun. Grace got some excellent work in this year.
 
Do you travel a ways to chase timberdoodles? In the cover we chase them, you need to remove one trigger and cut those barrels back a ways. When the flight is down, we kill way too many accidentally stepping on them and watch them cough up worms. Got bait? 😁

No, the woodcock are our only local attraction. We point the truck northwest in the fall to chase the mighty pheasant in the prairies. Woodcock keep me and the birddog sane until we can do it all over again. Shooting can be tight in some places but that’s what makes it fun. Lots of pine trees collecting lead in those areas.
