Pics on Quail

The wife and I went to look as some land we are thinking about.
So we took the dogs and went for a walk.

We found several coveys of quail. In one pic you can see the quail in front of Ace.

This was the first covey Indy found, with Ace backing

The birds were about 30 yards off Indy's nose in the bottom.

This was a single from the another covey that Indy pointed at 557 yards. He still thinks that he is in Montana.
But Ace had a nice find on the single and Indy backed.

I made Ace stand this bird for a long time, wanted my wife to see the quail and Indy backing.

Don't often see a wild quail in front of the dog.

Here is the pic with Ace and the quail in the same frame. Ace had been standing this bird for 15+ minutes by the time my wife got there.

That would have sold me! NICE PICS :10sign:

Fantastic pics, dog work, and pretty dogs. Love the traditional upland appearance of setters.

That was clever of the seller to go buy a bunch of quail and release them on his land before the auction ;). That probably jumped the value $400 per acre.
